Default Newmarket ~ Saturday 24th

Newmarket
2:50 Red Alert Day

Very good price with the 10-1 from Paddy Power.
He is taken down in Grade from a Group (3, 1, & 3) the last three starts into a Listed event today.
Form from the last three is 2-4-3 out of 12-9-8 runners.
His record at the course and distance is a win and third from two tries - won on Good to Firm while 3rd on Soft.
Efforts in Group events was close defeats by 1L, 2 1/4L, and 4 3/4L.
The last two 7f runners from trainer S A Callaghan won including one here.
3pts ew @ 10-1 Paddy Power

ReasoningWas highly promising on debut when poorly drawn and forced outside. He came from last to 2nd in the closing stages running on strongly and with improvement sure to follow should go well again here. It wont be long until his winning.

2.20 Newmarket
Pampas Cat - WIN
Think this one is between the 2 market leaders with preference for the John Gosden trained Pampas Cat. Made a 20/1 winning start with that form workign out exceptionally well - 2nd and 3rd that day went on to win NTO. Unefer's win has come on softer ground and think this GF could suit the selection who finished 3rd behind Dr Freemantle in the Chester Vase. The trainer/jockey combo won this event last year with Locarno and i'm hoping lightning can strike twice.

2.50 Luck Money 5/2 lad 15 pts nice horse last year, won loads of money through big sales race win in ire. ran well in coventry behind the 2000 g winner when third, dewhurst run was credible and a good solid horse who seems to find the trip fine. Trainer having a few winners just of late and Im not sure about how the trip will suit some other rivals, stimulation despite g run may still need more than 7f, bobs surprise sprinter?

3.20 Ancien regime 4/1 var bog 7.5 pts e.w Anticipated drop back in trip today could well be the key, high entries suggest a sprinter and one of some note and certainly some ability, beat ibn khaldun at yarm, lto at hq probably didnt get home properly so 6f could well suit and yard form a real bonus.

2.50 Stimulation 4/1

Normally pays to follow horses that have ran in the Guineas & finished down the field. Still think the horse may need further but won here previously.

3.20 Newmarket. Prohibit. Lay. (Racing Post SP 7/2).

Still too high in the weights for me, and although getting better ground this afternoon, I still feel with several better weighted rivals running for us, we can get this one beat. Shouldn't be too far away, but at 7/2 has to be opposed, irrespective of the end result.
