Default Newbury - 11/10

2.10 Stategic Mission RPF 6/1 e.w. I know there are some unexposed ones in here but I will be a bit disappointed if Strategic Mission was not placed at the minimum. Ground is an unknown factor to some degree but the second run behind Rio de la Palta was a decent run, a long way of the winner but stayed on well to 'win' its battle for sixth having been green earlier in this race and further improvement expected. Could well be an each way steal.

3.15 Apply Dapply e.w I think will also go quite well. Last run it was a bit disappointing but perhaps it wanted longer and that was a bit of a messy race. The race before I liked when just beatenby Night Cru in similar conditions to today and I was there that day at Newmarket and the pair pulled clear. I expect a good run.

EDGE OF GOLD 2.40 Newbury

Has actually won the 3 times in the last 4 starts she drifted left badly inside the final furlong after getting her head in front and was later disqualified back in June at Newbury. Runs off a 1lb higher mark than when winning over distance at HQ LTO and drops from a class 2 to this class 4.
Likes a bit of cut in the ground and should run well after being saved for this.

UIG 3.15 Newbury

UIG or (EGG) has been running well of late, ignore the Amateur Riders result LTO he’s better than that. He best judged on this previous 2 starts when 2nd and 1st at Sandown over 1mile1f. He is better over 10f and should make a bold bid today.

NIGHTSPOT 4.55 Newbury

Front runner who got 2nd spot at Windsor LTO off this mark but won over CD back in May off a 4lb lower mark ( Jockey claims 3lb). This extra furlong wont be a problem as he won at Kempton over this 11f off a 2lb higher mark in Aug.

I'm with you on Edge of Gold Carl.

2.40 Edge of Gold (nap)
Ground conditions will not be a worry here looks a real nice 2 year old 4 starts should be 3 wins with one 2nd, got demoted to 2nd on debut due to bumping into the runner up droped in class today and has the class to take this on ground which will be ideal.

ReasoningSWEETHEART run encouraging, and very promising, last time, at 2m1f on a GD-SF ground, only a neck second to a Class5 event. This 3yo daughter of Sinndar, is lightly raced with modest stats in the past, but is well weighted now to turn the places with today's second favourite (Squadron)(31 May'07), having again the strong help of J.Egan.

ReasoningKINGDOM OF DREAMS showed bit signs of his good old form, when only 1L (about) away from today's second favourite (Nightspot)(07 07'08). Today he has a very good apprentice on board(N.Brown) with 25% Winning-Rate ridding for J Mackie, and 30% Place-Rate this season. So at least the selection has a chance for the places (we get here 4 places).

Decent start for me so far had Brazilian Brush to place in the 1:10 and Drill Seargent to win and to place in the 1:40.

I've gone for a few outsiders today.

2:10 Leitmotif- to win and place
2:40 Blue Zenith- to win and place
2:40 Edge of Gold
3:15 Magic Echo
3:50 Robby Bobby

M. Johnston in great form and his partnership with Greg Fairley (1win and 2 places in 3 runs with this horse) shows an impressive 23% SR this year when it comes to 2yo races. Finished 3rd LTO on a class 2 race in Newmarket over 7f. Ground not a problem so each-way claims here.
