With stamina doubts over most of these the safest option is Shannon Springs, A CD winner 2 runs ago lost him his maiden tag and with the jockey getting a very useful claimer on board he is our tentative vote.


4.00 Ludlow: REHEARSAL (nap)
Ran out an impressive winner on his chasing debut on fast ground and with conditions favouring him again he is taken to follow up.

4.00 Ludlow - High Calibre

Carl's right about Rehersal, but I think High Calibre has better chances. I know the horse likes soft ground, but I doubt Jonjo would have taken it to Ludlow if he didnt think it would handle the trip. AP is on board so that means we have one of the best jockeys riding. And there is a great low weight mark so the horse should be virtually flying and if he stays on this further distance he will win it.

5.30 Ludlow - Princelet

Horse failed to recover from a last-flight blunder when going down by a neck at Kempton, but remains unexposed after just four starts over hurdles and a pair of blinkers may help him run even better. Remains a very interesting prospect and it would be no surprise to see him improve again racing on his favourite ground.

Dont blame you going against me with my current form and I did look at the AP ride but a few stats from Malcolm Boyle put me off,

Four of the eight winners carried weights of 11-9 or more which severely edits the number of contenders if you take the stats literally,

HIGH CALIBRE appears to be the main party-pooper in the pack, especially with the champion jockey in the saddle, though whether Tony McCoy is ready to go without food to get near the 10-7 mark is open to doubt.

I think if mine does blow up then I rate Tighe Castor the main danger.

3.30 Ludlow My Immortal. There may be some stamina doubts but goes today in better ground and is the classy performer of the field as Totesport Trophy run and subsequent run behind Overstrand show.

5.00 Ludlow - Viscount Bankes

I think it's between my selection and Red Brook Lad. The latter has won with almost the same weight mark, but the price is too short, so I'll take Viscount Bankers, who was a CD winner a month ago and then ran a good 2nd in Hereford woth today's weight. I can't see my selection out of the places so I'll place an e/w bet.
