Reasoning is STRICTLY required for all bets (All reasoning must be the authors original copy)
STRICTLY no editing of posts containing tips, if you need to correct something do it in another post, any late edits will result in disqualification from the competition.
1 Bet per day, Max. If more than one is posted they will be void unless a main pick is specified by the poster.
No Reserves allowed, although if you have a NR you can repost another selection
All bets posted must be at least 10 mins before the race time (no exceptions)and include the Time, Course and Selection
You may choose a 1pt Win Lay bet, a 1pt Place Lay bet (BF Place Rules). If you do not state a bet type, it will be entered as a 1pt Win Lay bet.
All bets will be calculated to the SP's returned by Betfair, Win and Place
All Lay bets are to be calculated to 1pt Liability basis.
All races and race types listed in the Racing Post Cards and Results with a Betfair SP are acceptable
In all cases, the Forum moderators agreed decision is final
"Best Bet of the Day” Award Rules, each month an award will be given for the top tipster. You must post at least 12 bets in compliance with the above rules within a calender month.
For strike rate purposes, any bet that makes a profit will be declared a winner, any Lay bet that returns less than the 1pt stake will be marked up as a loser. (ie DHeats etc)
The Tipster with the best profit overall at the end of Dec 31st 2010 will recieve a Trophy. Minimum 100 bets throughout the year must be posted for this award.

For the purpose of the competition the following table will be used to calculate what you will win, some are to the nearest penny. (in between prices will be settled accordingly)

First up I would like to say thanks for the award for last month.

Naturally I did not expect to win it due to my absence and logging on for the first time in a while to see that I had won the January Lay Comp was a very nice surprise. Thank you for running the comp BH!

Haven't posted for a while, been going through some horrible swings and drawdowns in my bankroll, my worst run ever. Noticed that I was doing some silly lays before in an effort to reduce my losses, but as always happens they won when you least wanted them to and added to the losses.

I will be back sooner or later, just need to take a breather, get some grounding, focus on building up the bankroll again and a bit of confidence.

Naturally I did not expect to win it due to my absence and logging on for the first time in a while to see that I had won the January Lay Comp was a very nice surprise. Thank you for running the comp BH! Haven't posted for a while, been going through some horrible swings and drawdowns in my bankroll, my worst run ever. Noticed that I was doing some silly lays before in an effort to reduce my losses, but as always happens they won when you least wanted them to and added to the losses. I will be back sooner or later, just need to take a breather, get some grounding, focus on building up the bankroll again and a bit of confidence.
