2000 Guineas - New Approach 4.4 on BF, I always back the winner of the Dewhurst in this, to win and place.

Coronation Cup - Soldier of Fortune 9.6 BF.....I reckon he'll be a superb 4yo. Run a good race in the Derby last year and could figure again.

This isnt necessarily an ante=post selection but GIFT HORSE has been slipping down the ratings over the latter half of last season and has shaped well as a result. He really looks primed to strike soon and his last race was encouraging. He's down a further 2lb's from that and is now rated 88, which is extremely fair on th epick of his form. I'll be following him in the short term.

Muthabara 10/1 Hills

I cant say anything more about it, but it has been backed from 25's at the start of March.

It won a listed stakes race over 7f at Sandown in July last year & also its debut at Newbury.
Looks like being ante post fav now leading into the big race. Havent seen the race today but apparently when asked it found more. 7/2 now.

He looked as though he was going backwards about 1 1/2 furlongs out then suddenly found an extra gear and won impressively in the end. Well done on the 10/1

BABY STRANGE

Had a very good level of juvenile form - competitive in Group Company and proven in Listed. Missed last season and has taken time to find his form this year but last time out was encouraging, finishing 2nd ina race thats working out well with the 3rd 4th and 6th running well since.

Excuse me re the last post.

I emat to say ran a lovely race last week when beaten just over a length by Virtual of John Gosden's.

Looks the type to progress and do even better and the form of its only 2 runs is solid enough.

It is entered in both english and irish 200 guineas and is likely to be a value bet in my eyes. Whatever it does if it takes up those engagements(doubtful considering there is quotes of 100/1 for newmarket guineas), i will be keeping it on my side for future.

Runs tomorrow at 4.30 at Sandown, will be on EW
Looks like it will be running off a decent weight here and up against it back on turf, but has a chance at a big price, we will see anyway. Just can't leave it out
Hear it is targeting the Italian Derby, but depends on the run here

Happy with the 10/1 on Muthabara for the Guineas (now 9/2)

2nd bet for me is in the Oaks will be Dar Re Mi who won at Sandown on Friday for John Gosden. I am convinced Gosden will win a couple of classics this season & this one duly ran away from its field with ease. Looks to have the perfect balance for the Epsom undulations. Wonder if he will run it in another trial but I will take a price about it now ew

OAKS - Dar Re Mi @ 10/1 PaddyPower EW

Agree with you Bowles about Dar Re Mi, though do think much of the value has gone now. Took 16/1 immediately after the Sandown race. I think John Gosden said she will probably go for the Musidora. Wish I had the price Lydia Hislop's got!! One of her five to follow on RUK.

She comes into the equations as she wasn't 100% fit on Friday, Gosden even said JF didn't want her to run.

Think I will be having my remaining 15% of Oaks ante post stake on her.

There is ALWAYS value to be had with the Oaks, due to reasons stated in my post above.

Wasnt sure whether to wait for the trials to see what else comes through. The only issue would be tactics on Gosden's horse as it led from the front & perhaps wouldnt do it that in the Oaks, but at the 2f marker, Fortune pressed the button & it took 4 or 5 Lengths out of the field.

Should be some key races over next 2 weeks to get a clearer Epsom view.

Don't know if last years Ante-post, Notebook is still available Bowles but I put this bet up at around 1st Sept last year.

2000 Guineas
£30 @ 12/1 (Bet Direct) Ravens Pass

Might have also put up Sense Of Joy for the 1000 at 16/1 and 25/1.

Havent found it yet, Ginge but looking!

My 1st notebook horse runs tonight at Windsor

7.40 Checklow 3rd behind the impressive Pamaps Cat at the Craven meeting. Looks to be around 4/6 tonight, so not much of an interest, will probably get better in running so will watch with interest.

Infallible was on my notebook list after the Craven meeting. Time will tell if its good enough today. I would prefer if it had had more than 2 runs in its life as experience normally counts in these classics.

I will certainly back it (currently around 4's) but also have 1 or 2 more in the race that stand a chance.
