Godolphin have taken plenty of stick following Ibn Khaldun's Classic flop but Creachadoir can hopefully come out on top today
With Ibn Khaldun failing to make the grade in the 2000 Guineas, many pundits were predicting a gloomy season for the Dubai-based outfit.
However, Godolphin have a great record in this Group One contest and Creachadoir makes plenty of appeal in race lacking strength in depth.
The four-year-old was good enough to finish second in both the French and Irish 2000 Guineas last season and was not beaten far in the St James's Palace Stakes either.
Admittedly his last run in Dubai was not up to scratch, but the race was really not run to suit and there will be few better opportunities than this for a big-race win.

Going for a bit of an outsider in this race. Still a maiden after 9 starts, the selection has run the last twice down at this grade (having previously competed at a higher level) and was not disgraced, is now tried at a mile for the first time and looking at previous races, should be ideal. Don't think the ground should pose a problem, and is at a career low mark, so hopefully he can go close, with 17 runners at the mo, for no further withdrawals.

Least I'm giving you all a chance.

8.20 Doncaster

I really fancied Throne of Power on 1000 Guineas day:

Quote:
5.40 Newmarket

I was impressed with Throne Of Power's debut win at Lingfield. The form is only ok but he won with a lot in hand after losing ground at the start. Connections said straight away that he wll be kept for the turf so lay off not a worry.

Not harshly treated.

Throne Of Power 50% of stake win 7 betfair
Throne Of Power 50% of stake place 2.44 betfair

After the race I was less than pleased. He got no run at all. Finished on the heels of the leaders still on the bridle. Although it was a rough race, McEvoy positioned him poorly on the rails failing to learn from other jockey's mistakes earlier in the meeting. I'm convinced he would've won and for me was the horse to take out of the race.

He was heavily backed on his debut and is clearly well thought of ($165,000 yearling).

I didn't think I'd see him in a Class 4 to be honest. Personally I would've liked to have seen him in a warmer race at better price.

Like Valery Borzov earlier he is a horse I think will be 10lb+ higher come season end so should find a race soon.

Yard hasn't sent a 3yo here since 2004, it won.

I'll be surprised if he doesn't go close.

I have a fancy this one will be top of the layers lists as he can be a right old monkey and will try to lose if possible. Jim Best has been doing well in the selling races lately and securing AP for one or two of the dodgy ones. Again he employes the master and on my form book is a stone in front of anything.
Ran on the flat last time when second at Great Leighs showing the horse is fit and well after being pulled up on unraceable ground before that. I really cant see a danger here (famous last words) and if the 6/4 in the RP is available then its just too good to miss. Any rain wont bother him either in fact may want a drop or two.
I think the connections really want to sell this one and everything has been set up to do it, found a poor race, the trip, the jockey and the ground, just need to let the horse know now!
A drop in class and McCoy booking can't be accidental. The 13/8 earlier was a real steal. Good one, Graham

GALLIC CHARM 8.50 Doncaster. 0.5 points each way. Race can be run to suit and has the ability to win. Seb on board should do the right things, so all in all looks a decent each way bet.
