| 735 Uttoxeter: Wotchalike 1pt win I have a fancy this one will be top of the layers lists as he can be a right old monkey and will try to lose if possible. Jim Best has been doing well in the selling races lately and securing AP for one or two of the dodgy ones. Again he employes the master and on my form book is a stone in front of anything. Ran on the flat last time when second at Great Leighs showing the horse is fit and well after being pulled up on unraceable ground before that. I really cant see a danger here (famous last words) and if the 6/4 in the RP is available then its just too good to miss. Any rain wont bother him either in fact may want a drop or two. I think the connections really want to sell this one and everything has been set up to do it, found a poor race, the trip, the jockey and the ground, just need to let the horse know now!

| Newbury 2:45 Creachadoir (BBOTD) Runner up in French and Irish 2000 Guineas last spring. Godolphin has a good record in this race. They also looked to have their runners in best shape - two wins and one second from last seven runners going into today.* *Two wins and one second from last five with jockey L Dettori on board. 5pts ew @ 6-1 Betfred |

| 2:45 Newbury Creachadoir (0.5 pt e/w) Godolphin have taken plenty of stick following Ibn Khaldun's Classic flop but Creachadoir can hopefully come out on top today With Ibn Khaldun failing to make the grade in the 2000 Guineas, many pundits were predicting a gloomy season for the Dubai-based outfit. However, Godolphin have a great record in this Group One contest and Creachadoir makes plenty of appeal in race lacking strength in depth. The four-year-old was good enough to finish second in both the French and Irish 2000 Guineas last season and was not beaten far in the St James's Palace Stakes either. Admittedly his last run in Dubai was not up to scratch, but the race was really not run to suit and there will be few better opportunities than this for a big-race win. ![]() |

| Arabian Gleam 2.45 Newbury (EACH WAY) I also like Arabian Gleam and feel this is a horse that could win some good races this season. It impressed me in 2 maiden races and it was noted as one to folllow. It was behind Tariq twice over 7f, both times running on at the end of the race and once after being hampered. Eventually won a Group 2 at Doncaster over 7f on good to firm for Jonny Murtagh. May have been beaten by the draw in its last race at Newmarket but will be back to winning ways sooner rather than later. May need the race after 210 days off but at 33-1 I'm taking a chance on it being fit and ready to win. Seb also won a maiden race on this horse and rides today.

| NOTICEABLE 4.35 BANGOR...1 pt lay 4 year old carrying 11st 11lbs does't appeal and the fact that he hasn't won a race yet further clouds the situation. have to be pretty good to beat these old handicappers and looks the lay. ![]() |

| 3-20 Newbury - Colony - Win Cruised from a way back to beat Midships last time out. McEvoy rode him that day while Moore was on the more fancied runner, Conduit. The Stoute stable is flying, and the added bonus of Moore in the plate today, (not that I'm denigrating McEvoy) should make him hard to beat. Captain Webb (5/4 favourite) was among his victims in that race, and despite while not performing to his best that day, he won a Listed race yesterday. Good luck to all, and thanks to BH for the work ![]()

| 3.10 Thirsk ![]() Gulf Coast - 0.5pts E/W (Current price 18/1) Going for a bit of an outsider in this race. Still a maiden after 9 starts, the selection has run the last twice down at this grade (having previously competed at a higher level) and was not disgraced, is now tried at a mile for the first time and looking at previous races, should be ideal. Don't think the ground should pose a problem, and is at a career low mark, so hopefully he can go close, with 17 runners at the mo, for no further withdrawals.

| Newb 3.20 Colony 1 pt win Seems far too short in a competitive race but the truth is that this one is one who definitely looks one to keep on side of. Won last start last season and win at the start of this season was pretty impressive, stroming through late on to win with a hint of ease. I was on captain webb that day and that one boosted the form last night when winning in listed company well last night and could be set for royal ascot. This one has raised 8 pounds since his last run but that might not be enough to stop this improving type. Strategic Mission maybe best e.w of the rest. |

| 2.35 Thirsk - Touchdown There is an odds on fav in the race, who has to be beaten, but my selection can do that. Went in the notebook last time, when losing an already won race. Ran green in the final stages and hung left under pressure. Was only beaten 3 lengths and should know more this time. Also 1st and 2nd from this race finished in that order again in a handicap. Yard is amongst the winners and definitely worth taking on the favourite here. |

| 3.10: Thirsk: Chaenomeles Going to chance a big priced selection today. With Mark Johnston's horses really starting to find their feet (4 winners yesterday), it may be worth chancing Chaenomeles today. Joe Fanning goes to Thirsk today to take the ride and based on Lingfield maiden run when last seen in 2007 has a real chance today from top weight. Was 4th that day at Lingfield but finished only half length behind 2nd placed horse Divine Power who went on to win from a mark of 78 next time out. If that form is taken at face value the selection must be well in here from a mark of only 65. Reappearance run over 1m2f on soft can be easily ignored as the selection appeared not to handle the extra distance and ground after racing prominently. Return to 1m today on fast surface could see that form easily left behind. Looks capable of place at worst today where nothing in the race stands out as an obvious winner. 0.5pts e/w ![]() |

| 3.20 Newbury - COLONY WIN This looks the NAP of the day to me, and many others seem to think so, backing her down to as short as 2/1 in places. However, I am still willing to take that price even in a race of this nature. He has a tall reputation and Stoute rates him highly, and she backed his thoughts up when winning very impressively last time out over todays distance. He took a while to pick up that day but when he did he powered away from the field and looked a stayer in the making. He clearly had a lot left in the locker and I like his chances today. Granted, this is a step up in class, but Stoute is in great form and he places his horses well. He gets inn off a nice weight today and I think this could be a horse capable of reaching Group level.

The absence has got to be a bit of a worry also, interested to see why you would be so willing to take such short odds. Can you expand on why you fancy it. It may well win but it looks short to me. ![]()

| Astronomer Royal 25/1 I know he shouldnt be favourite but this horse is actually the only one with the group one european form in this race. How he is a big as he is is a joke. I dont think he'll win but the value s enough for me to have a bet on him. |

| Think you need to post your selections in this thread at least 15 minutes before the off mate. Good luck though.
