3.15 GoodWood Lush Lashes win

This horse was 2/1 in the week but that's long gone now. She muredered the coronation field at Ascot that included Nahood who has since won and Beaten Heaven Sent although the ground did soften quite considerably that day.

She didn't quite handle Epsom but 1m -1m2 should be her optimum trip so 1m1f should pose no problems today. I think she could be a very good fillie but we'll find out today.

Good 3.50 Prime Defender 1 pt win Prime Defender has always been a good horse, even at 2 it was in some good races, just behind cockney rebel for one when unlucky in a big sales race. Since then he has had some ups and downs but he has found form of late, running on in a group race over san. stiff 5f and then lto in a group 1 ran really creditibly and that officially means he is in 9 pounds well in today whcih bodes very well, also the high draw has so far been favourable this week although the horse from stall one may try to do something about that.

17.00 - Goodwood - Tishtar WIN (4.4 Betfair)
Does have top weight but this mark may not be right. Won very well LTO and looked progressive enough. Only horse in the field to have Group 1 entries and could be destined for much better things. Stable does well in this race too.
Was third first time up in a good maiden at 6F before winning at 5F LTO. Was also withdroawn from a listed race. Looks to have quality and should take the beating here.

This one just keeps on improving and has beaten most of its market rivals in previous races this season. Is a course and distance winner and seems better on easy ground. Also has the 1 draw which should be an advantage.

620 Ling: Trevian 1pt win

Looks like a two horse race to me and with the fav being very short i'll go for a bit of value with Trevian at around 5/1. Won this race last year, has been running well all year and now well handicapped again, makes his debut for new trainer who is in smashing form.

3:50 @ Goodwood - Knot In Wood

Tough little horse, the yard are in form and the draw seems to be ideal with plenty around who will make the running he should get a true run race. Seems to have come in (pricewise effect) so I'd want a little more than 8/1 in a field like this, but I certainly think its plenty good enough to get its head in front.

Hacked up in the Gr. 3 Musidora over 10, then found the 12 furlongs of the Oaks a bit too far (or was undone by the ground) but back over a mile she made short work of the Coronation Stakes in a time over 2 seconds faster than average. Back up in distance today, which should be no problem, and provided the heavens don't open up (it was pouring on the Isle Of Wight at 8-30 a.m.) she should be hard to beat.

Perfect Stride 2.40 Goodwood
Expected to be running in group races sooner rather than later, complete no show in the guineas but then looked excellent when winning over 1m last week on good to firm. Moore had it just sat off the pace but then when asked for its effort it quickened up nicely to win going away by 3 lengths, has not had a hard season and turned out after only 1 week in this listed race. Worthy favourite and will be very hard to beat today.

Lush Lashes is already proven and comes up against several horses here who are just not quite upto her level in my opinion. She absolutely hacked up in the Coronation at Royal Ascot and having won over 10 furlongs before, the step back up in trip won't be a problem. On formlines through Infallible she easily has the beating of Heaven Sent, Passage Of Time and Muthabara. Halfway To Heaven could be the danger but she is not bred to stay this trip and needs to improve to beat Lush Lashes anyway.

As they say, the best form is classic form and this filly has won one classic, the Irish 1000........and finished fairly close up in another, the french 1000

There are 3 other group one winners in the field, so it's pretty comptitive, but I'm worried about Lush Lashes handling the undulations, Passage of Time is on the comeback but not back to this level yet and Majestic Roi has been disppointing in both outings this season at G1 level.

Not sure how much I will be around this month, but I guess I can put a selection or two. Ladbrokes are offering us 1/4 for the 3 places and at 5/1 this looks a very nice offer. The horse is capable and I noticed how beautifully he travelled at Leicester. Will be spot on today and looks a cracking e/w bet to nothing. Fav may need the run.

Sentimental bet for me here on Hallings Overture, who won big for me over CD in the past. Only been seen once this season and that was 150 days ago, and done very little for some time now. However, he's down to 49 now and given he's won off 50 and 54 here he may have a little squeak. Far more negatives than positives about him but for me he's worth a small bet and with the competition wide open with only 1 day played, I don't mind throwing away a pt if it comes stone cold last
