| Great Leighs 3:35 Mutajarred Jockey R Hills is booked for today. Hills has 3 wins from 7 3yo's in this year's Turf season for trainer W J Haggas. The past 5 seasons, the trainer and jockey combo has 13 wins from 65 3yo Turf runners for +5.98 LSP. Mutajarred has a very good record lifetime, 3 wins and 2 seconds from 7 career runs (all Turf). 10pts win @ SP |

| 3.25 Cartmel: Commanche Topgun Beaten by the well handicapped Cool Operator when finishing 3rd at Uttoxeter on chase debut 11 days ago but run with far more promise than shown over hurdles - runs from same mark today. Stable form good with trainer having 2 winners, a 2nd and a 3rd at Hexham yesterday and with McCoy in the plate everything points to a big run. WIN ![]() |

| 2.30 Great Leighs - New York Oscar (1pt Win) Unlucky last time behind the favourite in this race when getting no run whatsoever. Is now 11lb better off since that defeat and also 2lb below his last winning mark. A winner waiting to happen and around 4/1 represents solid value here. |

| 5-05 - Cartmel - Danny Zuko - Win Back To The Wind took off like it was a 5 furlong dash last time, and won by three quarters of a length. He shouldn't be able to do the same today with a seven pound penalty. Castletown Boy has been in the frame 4 times but has never won, so he could be a bit one paced at the business end. In what appears to be a three horse race, Danny Zuko looks to have the best chance of the trio. He took a keen hold last time but made ground from 6 out, so he will have to settle better.

| 3.35 Great Leighs Many Volumes 1pt win Ran a great race last time out when finishing within 1/2 length of Red Rocks over this distance and had Pinpoint 4 lengths back in 4th although that horse has a 4lb pull today but that shouldn't be a problem. The main danger is probably Mutajarred who is closely matched on ratings but has never won over this distance and could lead the race which will be in Many Volumes favour to swoop late.

| 750 Soutwell: General Alarm : Lay (4/5 RP F/C) Been right through this seller and its a real bad race, only three have any chance so it makes sense to take on the short priced fav as he his an 11 year old, fully exposed, blasts off from the front, has been known to refuse to race and carries 7lbs more than the others. The two I have down as the possible dangers are First Fought and Give Me Love. First Fought is my idea of the winner, ran ok when dropped to selling company last time (winner since won a better race) but the trip was too short, the extra distance today will suit this one, had a much higher rating at one time and has been chasing recently, his second behind King Daniel would see him win by 30 lengths here! Give Me Love has been disappointing but could bounce back in this grade and Denis O'Regan has been booked for another which is interesting so the Lay is the safest option rather than backing First Fought.

| MONT CERVIN 3.15 Yarmouth. 0.5 points each way. I'm expecting a big improvement this afternoon, and with not needing 'too' much, the odds are there to make this an each way bet. Trip and ground should be fine. |

then strangely reared up on the off with it's blanket still on and a handler fussing still about with it...lost 3 or 4 lengths, sprinted to join the back of the pack and then completely fizzled out, no chance, miles behind (2nd last I think..hard to tell he was so far out of camera shot )Meanwhile the 12-1 to 5-2 gamble trots home. Peeeeeughhhhhhh I can smell that race from here. | |

| Dhahab E/W9.05 Beverley The Clive Brittain trained filly is the BBOTD today. Ran a staying on 4th over 6f LTO and the form of that hasn't worked out too badly. Is obvioulsy open to improvement and drawn 10/12 will not hinder at all. Currently a very tasty 48.00 on betfair so will tak some of that and a bit of the place.

| 7.50 Southwel - Hardybuck E/W In awfull form lately, but top jockey booked and runs in a seller for the first time. This 20/1 at B365 is definitely worth a punt. Only one of the market leaders needs to struggle and my selection will place. |

| Alectrona (EW) Beverley 7.35 I'm sure a few remember this race last year when somehow I managed the 1st, 2nd and 3rd at 20-1, 20-1 and 50-1, all drawn low. There are 2 drawn low I'm interested in tonight which are Haigh Hall and Alectrona. Haigh Hall I fancy more to do with the way it won than the fact it won or what it beat. It was apparently the pick of the parade ring and could be very special, the money is already down for it and its around 3-1, it's drawn 2. In the next stall (1) is Alectrona, this went for over 125,000 guineas at the sales and the booking of Ryan Moore is eyecatching. It might eventually be suited to a bit further than this 5f but at 20-1 it's worth some ew interest. The price of Haigh Hall puts me off slightly but if this as good as I think it might be the 3-1 may be a steal.

| To be honest the 3.50 at Yarmouth was my bet of the day but I couldn't split the two I backed (1st/2nd) - which happens a lot with me on this thread. Toyed with tipping either of the good things tonight (Corrybrough and Lindelaan) but they are just a little too short. I'm having a double which should pay around 2.3. For the bet of the day though I'm going to Leopardstown. Leopardstown 8.30 A 20 runner apprentice handicap! - So stakes won't be huge if I'm honest. You don't usually see firm going in Ireland so I thought I'd try and decipher the winner on the theory that some won't act and some will improve for it. Sinsational ran well in maidens last season but disappointed in his first few starts this season on soft ground. Came back to form LTO on the dirt when 3rd at Dundalk (2nd went close in big handicap NTO). He is well handicapped on his maiden form (5lb lower after his 3rd maiden run) and he may prefer this quicker ground - two best runs to date on good/firm (2nd to Port of Spain) and A/W (LTO). They're going 15/2 the field so a speculative bet at a price. Blueberry Tart and Duck Scary pick of form is on a sound surface and they rate as my dangers. |
