| Brazil will win it this year, they are due another WC final at least! Spain are massively over rated and doubt they will even get to the the semis....mark my words! ![]()

I think betting on an African team to win the Cup may be a worthwhile bet. From the African flock I would have to go with Ghana who you can get @ 81.00 to win the cup (one should bet them each way). In my view, Ghana stands out as a good choice. They are the runner-up team from the last African Nations Cup (The winners, Egypt, didn't qualify for the World Cup) and they impressed in the 2006 Cup with their performance. If we see an upset this year I think it may be Ghana.

I think the African teams will struggle, and will be surprised if any team survive the groups and the last 16. They just don't have the climate advantage that is associated with hosts doing well, because it will be Winter there.

i was looking for an outsider to back on a spread market. Serbia if they can win their group may then play slovenia in round 2 and argentina in the quarter final then possibly spain in the semi at which stage they exit. i realise trying to work out a route like this is pretty foolish but spreadex have a win market which pays 100 to the winner and 0 for all other teams. you can buy serbia at 2 which could be cheap to sell later on assuming they progress. The group they are in looks fairly tough but hopefully they will do enough to top it. If they come second england await in round 2 (in my scenario anyway). They may of course not make it out of the group as ghana and australia will not be pushovers. This is probably all pie in the sky but will give me an interest, hopefully for longer than the group stage. Good luck all in your choices.

Putting money on some African team to win the World Cup is worthless, in my opinion. All of these teams has some really world-class players, but only 2, max 3 players. They ca't compare with Brazil, Argentina or the european giants. The others in these squads are average footballers. Also, I do not see any team to have a coach, master of the tactics. But I think with a bit luck african teams can beat their best achievement so far and to reach the semi-finals.
