Ive noticed a big surge in players since Xmas on COD4, it takes a while to get a game other than free-for-all.
Best advice is get on the team death-match and just learn how to play each map, look for camping spots(places to hide and shoot not to set up a tent
).
Ive got to lieutenant now and I can hold my own against most of them, had a 8 man killing spree a couple of times but ive been taught a few lessons the hard way also
just takes practise.
as for PES lag again ive been on Fifa08 matchs playing against someone online and its got that bad the whole game just freezes for a few seconds, totally unplayable but you need to keep trying to get a game where there is no lag.
Dont give up yet, failing that get 20mb broadband
