If you play a major event as "scared money" and do things like AA pre flop, then IMO you will be playing anything else very weakly too - the other players will trample all over you - your chances of making the money will be pretty much non existent ...... you have to play your normal, your best, game to maximise your chances ...... otherwise, there's no point in playing!!!

There's NO shame in going out of a tournament with AA when the money is all in pre flop......
