Default Re: 3 suited cards

I think my probelm was that I wanted a caller as I wanted to double up then and there so I could start playing hands and hope to get to the final table. If I had shoved pre-flop I felt everyone would probably fold and therefore I would be left in the same situation again in 3-4 hands time.

I know I should have gone ALL-IN if I wanted to win outright but was my tactic (LOL) of not shoving pure fool-hardiness, was this my best tactic to get some money out of people and shorten the field to reduce the number of players I was against or should I have flat called and waited to shove on the flop?

Would most likely have been the same result, in this case, but is the only play ALL-IN pre-flop with my chip stack?
