Ok - Am going to experiment with something new - an "equity exchange club".
The Concept
Players buy themselves into a tournament. Results are tracked over an (approximate) calendar month. At the end of the month all buy ins and prizes are summed for each player and transfers made to balance the profit/loss equally across the board.
There will be a maximum of 5 players in the group. In the first month I will be one and I will select 4 players (by whatever method I, in my sole discretion deem apropriate) to join me.
At the end of the month, the player(s) with the worst net performance (tracked over "lifetime" for this event) will lose their position in the group. They may apply for re-election. Other PL'rs may also apply for the free spot. When aplications close, the players in the team will chose who they wish to join them by secret ballot (secret from the perspective votes are PM'd to the group administrator for the following month and not made public) - Each member will rank all applicants in order - the rankings will be summed and the player(s) with the lowest ranking will win a spot in the group. In the event of a tie in the votes, the group administrator for the following month will have a casting vote.
Group members do not have to play all games in a month, however should be aware that if others play and they dont, then they are effectively staking them.
"Lifetime performance" in this series will be tracked as Net Profit/Loss whilst playing as a member of a group.
Just for clarity - I can be ejected from this as much as anyone else - if I finish bottom then I am eliminated and have to reapply (alongside other applicatnts) if I wish to continue in the group.
I have to stress as well - these games are not team events - you must play them as an individual and make individual decisions to maximise your own tournament equity.
The Game William Hill Super Series - £2.50+£0.50 Buy In with £500 added every Friday Night from 21st November to 26th December (6 games)
The Future
If there is enough interest, then we could have tiered levels of equity exchange groups with promotion and relegation (putting players with similar results in the same groups)
Who runs it?
I'm launching it and running the first month, but the intention is for this to be passed around and running it to be shared amongst members of the group.
Exchange Rates
Where exchange rates are necessary (intention is that most transfers will take place as Player to Player transfers on USD sites such as
FullTilt or
Pokerstars) then the
www.xe.com exchange rate will be used as first reported following the conclusion of the final game.
