Matchday 4 - Points are priceless for the teams on the fringe of qualification
We are into the second half of the group phase of the Champions League and every point is priceless as we build up to a nail-biting few matchdays that decide who will go forward and who will be eliminated. There is still plenty to do for the UK teams as many are currently out of the qualification positions. CL1
Team Pokertor won an impressive three tournaments to take full points in round 3 in this group thanks to wins from erdium FL, lichtan123, polkaprinz. This great result means that the team from the German 2nd League are almost assured a place in the quarter finals. The Smart Aces are also well placed for qualification after they snapped up 2nd place on Wednesday. UK team Red Aces improved with a 3rd position and have climbed the table slightly but it may be an anxious finish with the penultimate matchday this Sunday.
CL2
mTw made it two wins in a row spectacularly winning round 4. They managed three tournament wins and now look a solid qualification bet along with Queens of Music who decided to save some energy in round 4 and only scored points for 6th position. Punterslounge are back in contention after a decent performance in 3rd in matchday 4 and currently lie in 4th position in their group. An exciting finale is also on the cards in this group as all teams stand a chance of qualification to the next stage. The Suited Bluffers didn’t score well in this matchday but trail 5th place foesport.de by just 13 points, their task is by no means impossible.
CL3
KWICK! Poker-Team took full points in matchday 4 and have opened up a 12 point lead at the top of group 3. Bikeradar Kings of Poker follow them but only after a poor showing on Wednesday with no players doing better than 5th. The middle eight teams in this group are only separated by 16 points so much can still change and the Bikers are not yet guaranteed a place in the knockouts. The bottom of group 3 is still propped up by three UK teams. Whilst the Pokah Outlaws are starting to pray for a miracle, Wassonline.com and Techradar Calling United are still well in touch with the teams immediately ahead and are still in with a shout.
CL4
Wettbasis are the “steady eddies” of group 4 after they pick up another very solid score. Their 2nd position result now virtually assures them progression to the business end of the Champions League. Seven 2 Off-suit look like joining them after registering their first win.
CL5
Team Gwaan weren’t at the races this time out and finished last in matchday 4 but their astounding start to the group is surely enough to get them through this group. CVG Poker Champions are back in 5th after they scored a 5th place result. Their position is vulnerable though as the three teams behind them in the league all had better results in matchday 4.
CL6
Poker.co.uk Poker Team took a big step towards qualification with two tournament wins which was enough to take maximum points and now are up to 2nd in the table. Keshathallam and billycathy were the key players in their victory. Gamesradar All in put in a consistent team performance but will need more if they are to proceed. Some good scores finally from Royal Flush Poker Team get them to some respectability in group 4 after a 3rd place score. They stay bottom of the table but two more strong scores and they could pull off mission impossible.
