We all know that in football teams get decisions given for them, and given against them. IMO, yesterday was Celtic's day for the decisions. Rangers have had their days in the past my I add. The first goal was offside. Pure and simple. But the goal stand, no arguement. Rangers go on to take the lead through 2 very soft goals, very unlike Celtic to concede like that. I was thinking it was happy days at this point. Celtic's second goals was well worked, and well taken - but I cannot say it was deserved.
The penalty... Yeah, it was a penalty. I can honestly say, and I have said so since Hutton's departure - Kirk Broadfoot is simply not upto the level needed to be Rangers' starting right back - he looked out of his depth yesterday and gave away a needless penalty. I still thought we had a 3rd goal in us - but it was not to be.
Whittaker is a silly boy for getting his second yellow in the 93rd, absolutely no need and I hope Walter Smith has laid into him. Boruc did not need to provoke any sort of reaction after the game. I know, and respect, the fact that he is a practicing Roman Catholic. But his little stunt was simply not necessary. His team had won the match, and by displaying his t-shirt all he has done is risk a punishment from the SFA (rightly or wrongly - it isn't for me to say). He doesn't do himself any favours though does he?
For the record - I do not believe he was prosecuted for crossing himself. He was prosecuted for making gestures at Rangers fans.
There is one point I need to raise however...
I have not seen this, and I do not believe this to be true. At Ibrox each week there are a number of Israeli flags on display, some fans feel an affinity with the Israelis... not me may I add... and I very much doubt whether Nazi salutes were displayed in Israel. |
Alex agree with some of your points here and disagree with some others (the points highlighted).
1stly .... Rangers had the better of the first 35-40 minutes, no question about that, however I do feel Celtic done more than enough in the second half to deserve to take all three points...Rangers players looked shattered and this may have have a massive impact on the outcome of the game but I tohught Celtic played reasonably well in the second half and deserved to win.
2ndly, Have you been watching Celtic lately...? We have lost an incredible amount of soft goals this year, its the main reason we are in the position we are in.
3rdly, I dont necesserly disagree with you here, I just thought Id point out that I have no opinion on this matter at all except, the display of this t-shirt IMO should not wind anyone who is not a bigot up......Its not slagging anyone off, he is purely wearing this because he practices the reliegion, do you really believe this would have had the same impact in any of country....no chance....its sad I know.
Anyway, I agree this thread has been getting out of hand and I

you for pulling up 'theboybroon' for his foolish and insulting comments. Well done!
