But how the fcuk can anybody tip Northants up at 12/1

. There's nothing there

. HOW VERY DARE YOU!!!
Happen to think you are over-rating the not so mighty Steelbacks. Not sure about a surprise packet, I will be surprised if we finish out of the bottom three in either league or indeed qualify for either the FPT or Twenty 20 quarters. It's being so optimistic that keeps me going!!
The pre-season results went well with wins over Hampshire, Derby and Notts. However Mr Sales has been playing like a plum, apparently. Ironic when he looks like a tomato. A top six of Stephen Peters, Alex Wakely, Nicky Boje,David Sales, Rob White and Riki Wessels is unlikely to get fast bowlers twanging their hamstring on the morning of a match.
Still with the Vicar of Wigley and Niall O'Byes on display, the entertainment value will be there. However our secret weapon, is a lad called Sean Bailey. Looks and is bulit like Steve Harmison ( hopefully he doesn't get a nose bleed on joining the motorway) and could surprise a few people before the season is out. That said our season, finished with Hall and van der Wath's application being turned down by the ECB.
For the record.
I have backed Di Venuto and Key as top scorers in Div 1, Shah for Div 2.
Surrey for the FPT and Gloucestershire to win the West Section of the FPT at 6/1 (nap), which is a remarkable price for a team which includes Spearman,Marshall,Kadeer Ali, Lewis and Greenidge *cough*. A very even group with Hampshire, Somerset, Glamorgan and Worcestershire. Let's face it everyone hates going to Bristol, even Bristolians!
Good luck for a successful punting season!
