Federer vs Murray Betting: Roger Federer is not going to fail in the final match
We should be in for a great Wimbledon final today, although it is impossible to see past the Swiss number one in my opinion. He is coming into the final match as a 1.52 favourite with Pinnacle and I would definitely say that those odds are well-justified.
Look, there is a lot on the line for Murray here, but there is even more on the line for Federer today and we all know how clinical he can be in such situations. A win here would give him plenty of records and, most importantly, the number one spot in the ranking list. Yes - the goal of becoming the number one again is just one match away for the Swiss legend.
Interestingly, Murray actually leads the H2H record 9-7. And it is not really that hard to see the reasons for that. His counter-punching style can do a lot of damage against Federer, who is getting a bit weaker as the rallies go on. Murray also offers more on return, which means that he can get himself into those rallies very often. Nevertheless, one thing needs to be emphasized - Murray does not have a good record against Federer when it comes to the most important matches. In terms of sets, Murray is 0-6 down against Federer in Grand Slam matches.
The question is obvious - has Murray learned his lessons? From my point of view, he has not done that yet. He is still losing sets (and even matches) against weak players from time to time, he still has the habit of losing focus at the wrong moments and he is still cracking under pressure more often than he should be. Don't get me wrong - he has been playing really well so far in this event, but this will be a completely different challenge.
I am actually going to back two selections, although both come from the set handicap markets. I do expect Federer to win this match in a fairly straightforward manner, but Murray is fully capable of taking a set off the Swiss number one, so stakes are selected accordingly.
