FA Cup Betting: Liverpool into 9/4 favourites after being one of only two sides into the semi finals so far
Liverpool are now the 9/4 favourites with Blue Square to win the FA Cup to go along with their Carling Cup triumph after the saw off Stoke in their quarter final to qualify for the semi final on Sunday afternoon. They will play the winners of the Sunderland vs Everton tie in the semi final at Wembley next month thanks to goals from Luis Suarez and Stewart Downing in a 2-1 win for the Reds.
Chelsea are the second favourites for the cup now having too clinched their place in the semi final on Sunday. They beat Championship side Leicester in their quarter final as a Fernando Torres brace allowed them to gain a 5-2 win at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea now play the winner of the Spurs vs Bolton tie at Wembley in April and are a 5/2 chance with BetVictor to regain the FA Cup under Roberto di Matteo.
Tottenham are 33/10 with Stan James to win the cup despite seeing their quarter final abandoned just before half time after the tragic circumstances surrounding Bolton’s Fabrice Muamba. When something like that happens football is irrelevant but it could give Bolton some inspiration for the rest of the competition and if it does then the 33/1 about them winning the cup could look big at some point despite the emotional surroundings.
Everton and Sunderland will replay at the Stadium of Light for the right to face Liverpool in the semi final at Wembley after they drew 1-1 at Goodison Park on Saturday. Tim Cahill equalised Phil Bardsley’s opener for Sunderland to ensure the spoils were shared and a replay was needed. Sunderland are now marginally favoured of the two outright at 17/2 with Boylesports whereas Everton are now 9/1 shots to win the cup with Bet365.
