European Tour Event 3 Betting: Dave Chisnall 9/2 favourite to win as the tournament enters the last 16 stage
Dave Chisnall is the 9/2 favourite with Blue Square to win the third European Tour event of the season in Dusseldorf on Sunday after Saturday saw yet more top names exiting the tournament. The tournament is at the last 16 stage with the remainder of the event to be played out in a busy day of darts and Chisnall will begin that busy day with a last 16 clash against Mark Dudbridge.
Chisnall is favourite from Raymond Barneveld who is 11/2 with the same firm to win the tournament from here. Barneveld is no stranger to winning big tournaments even though it has been a while and apart from a potential quarter final against James Wade he looks to have a nice path through to the final. Barneveld takes on Gino Vos in the last 16 in a match he is expected to win.
James Wade is a potential quarter final opponent for Raymond Barneveld and he is a 6/1 shot to win the tournament from here, the same price as Simon Whitlock is. Whitlock is on a collision course for a quarter final meeting with Dave Chisnall in the last eight which could scupper his chances. Before then though Whitlock has to see off the UK Open champion Robert Thornton which will be no easy task.
It is double figure odds everyone else left in the field beginning with Mervyn King who is a 14/1 shot with Bet365 to win his first tournament since recovering from his chronic tennis elbow injury. He’s in the top quarter of the draw which was due to be dominated by Adrian Lewis but he was one of the big name casualties on Saturday leaving the top quarter open for Mervyn King should he come past Steve Beaton in the last 16 on Sunday afternoon.
