England vs West Indies 3rd ODI Betting: Bowling conditions can assist England to complete series whitewash
England secured the NatWest series against the West Indies when they won the second ODI at The Oval on Tuesday and they head to Headingley on Friday looking for a series whitewash. The West Indies will be looking to salvage some pride and also build some momentum to take into Sunday’s T20 match at Trent Bridge so if the showers stay away there should be a lot to play for. England are 8/11 with Betfred to win the match.
This match forms part of a big summer for Headingley as they host the second test of the England vs South Africa series later in the summer. It will be the 36th ODI to be held in the Leeds venue and they are always well attended affairs. England have played in 26 ODI’s here and have a 15/10 winning record with one no result. West Indies have played here 5 times previously with two wins and three defeats.
England announced straight after the last ODI that they would be resting three key players in the form of Stuart Broad, Tim Bresnan and Graeme Swann. Jade Dernbach looks set to come into the side despite the news of Tom Maynard, his Surrey teammate, dying earlier in the week. Chris Woakes is also set to come in while Samit Patel may well be the other one to come into the side.
Darren Sammy said he would look to give a game to those who are yet to feature in the series so that means Johnson Charles may well play. He would come in for Lendl Simmons who could barely get it off the square at The Oval. Fidel Edwards is the other yet to feature so he could come in for Tino Best who offered little in the last ODI.
I think England to win has to be the bet in this match. Conditions are likely to heavily favour the bowlers in this match and England have that area covered even without Broad and Bresnan. The West Indies attack has looked even more like cannon fodder than it did in the test matches and the England batting line up have picked them off at will so I think Alastair Cook’s men can win the series 3-0 by winning this match.
