England vs Ukraine Betting: England can move into the quarter finals with a win over the co-hosts
With their comeback win against Sweden, England have put themselves in a wonderful position to qualify from Group D of the Euro 2012 tournament. They go into their final match against co-hosts Ukraine knowing if they avoid defeat they will be into the quarter finals of the competition. For Ukraine the equation is quite simple. It is win or they will no longer be a part of their own party. England go into the match as 11/10 shots with Ladbrokes.
The big news for England going into the match is the availability of Wayne Rooney after he was suspended for the first two matches of the tournament. There were concerns that England’s game changer against Sweden, Theo Walcott, would miss the match with a hamstring problem but Roy Hodgson has confirmed he is fit to play and he is set to begin the match. He could start in place of James Milner.
The hosts need to win and the one thing they didn’t need was an injury concern over their hero Andriy Shevchenko. Luckily for all Ukrainians the former Chelsea forward took part in training on Monday so he does look set to start. Ukraine were very poor against France last time out in difficult conditions but they can’t afford to be off their game in this match else their tournament life will be short lived.
Ukraine will go hard at England in this match but I expect England to soak up a bit of pressure and then win the game. I know they don’t have to win the match but I think they will want to win it to have a chance of avoiding Spain in the quarter finals. With Rooney back England carry even more of a goal threat than before and with the pace in behind I think they will have the joy they crave and win the match.
Back England to beat Ukraine for a 4/10 stake at 2.10 with Ladbrokes
