Denmark vs Germany Betting: Germany can top the group with a 100% record by beating Denmark
Despite winning their opening two matches of Euro 2012, Germany haven’t yet qualified from Group B. They still need a point from their final match against Denmark on Sunday night to ensure that they go into the knockout stages. Denmark need to better Portugal’s result against Holland to be certain of going through to the next round. As you would expect the Germans are warm favourites and can be backed at 8/11 with Bet365.
Denmark come into the match slightly unfortunate not to be into the knockout stages already. They got a fortunate win over the Dutch but then played a lot better against Portugal only to lose a late goal when really it looked like the match was destined for a draw. Sadly that defeat came at a cost not only to their record but also to Dennis Rommedahl who picked up a muscle injury and misses this match.
Germany have been excellent in the tournament so far. They have beaten Portugal and Holland and beaten them a lot easier than the one goal margins in each match suggested. Mario Gomez has been their chief destroyer, in fact he is the only German to score in the tournament so far. Germany need just a point to make sure of going through but they’ll have to get it without Jerome Boateng who is suspended after picking up two yellow cards.
I’ve enjoyed watching the Danes in this tournament but I think this looks a match too far for them. History shows taking them on isn’t always wise but on this occasion it looks the only logical play. Germany have been one of the best sides in the tournament and have beaten two more dangerous opponents without really being tested so far. The likes of Ozil, Podolski and Muller haven’t really fired in the tournament yet and you would think they are too good to go three matches without doing so and that thought leads me to taking the Germans here.
Back Germany to beat Denmark for a 5/10 stake at 1.73 with Bet365
