Deccan Chargers vs Royal Challengers Bangalore Betting: Bangalore can secure their playoff place with Deccan win
The league stage of the Indian Premier League finishes with another double header of action on Sunday and the opening match of the day is effectively a quarter final for the Royal Challengers Bangalore as they head to Hyderabad to take on the Deccan Chargers. If Bangalore win this match they go into the playoffs. Defeat means they will end the season outside the top four. Deccan have never been in the playoff mix and are playing purely for pride. Bangalore are the 1/2 favourites for this match with BetVictor.
Deccan Chargers have been the worst team in the competition by some way. They have generally batted the entire tournament with just two batsmen and their bowling attack has been close to non-existent all tournament. Even with Dale Steyn in their ranks they have gone for way too many runs but they did all but end the hopes of the Rajasthan Royals last time out when they picked up a rare win and hope to repeat that here.
Bangalore kept their hopes of a place in the playoffs alive by winning a high scoring match with Delhi last time out, a match which Chris Gayle bludgeoned a remarkable century as Bangalore sailed past 200. They nearly needed every run as not for the first time their bowling attack went around the park but they held on and now know another win here will see them into the playoffs.
You have to think they will get that win because they have the batting line up which can take Deccan apart. In the reverse fixture AB de Villiers took Dale Steyn apart and any one of the Bangalore batsmen could do the same to this attack here. There is a bit of pressure on Bangalore and against anyone else you would think twice about taking them but I just think they’ll be too strong with bat and ball in this one.
