Croatia vs Spain Betting: Conspiracy theorists have pushed Spain to a more than backable price
Spain and Croatia both have four points from two matches in Euro 2012 Group C and they meet each other in their final match in the group in Gdansk on Monday night. Both sides know if they win this match they are through regardless of the result in the other game but the conspiracy theorists have been out in force as a 2-2 draw guarantees both go through. Because of that Spain have drifted to as big as 3/4 with Ladbrokes.
Spain went into their first match without a striker but they recalled Fernando Torres for the match against Republic of Ireland last time out and that worked to maximum effect with the Chelsea forward scoring twice in a convincing victory. Torres is expected to remain in the side for this match which means Cesc Fabregas, who has scored in both of Spain’s matches, will begin on the bench. Sergio Busquets has recovered from the knock he picked up against Ireland.
Croatia have looked a decent side in this tournament and in Mario Mandzukic they have the joint leading scorer in the tournament. However he picked up a knock against Italy last time out and is being assessed ahead of this match. Croatia performed a lot better in the Italy game when Luka Modric was pushed further forward and Croatia could begin with him in that role in this match too.
With the conspiracies that are doing the rounds for this match we are able to get Spain at a fantastic price and that’s exactly what I’m doing. If the team they could knock out was a Germany or a France or someone then fair enough but I don’t think they’ll be too worried about the Italians. They will just want to win the group. Croatia have looked good but I still think Spain are a class above. They keep the ball so well and you can’t win matches when you see nothing of the ball. Definitely Spain for me here at this price.
