Cirstea vs Doi Betting: Sorana Cirstea can cover the handicap against Misaki Doi

The second round of the WTA event in Pattaya is on the schedule today and there are some interesting match-ups on offer. Sorana Cirstea, one of the most talented youngsters on the tour, is going to play against yet another Japanese talent today and I fancy her to get another easy victory. Bet365 are offering just 1.14 outright and that is hardly interesting, so I am going to go with the handicap line instead.

Sorana Cirste has already beaten some decent players this year, including Betthanie Mattek-Sands and Sam Stosur, so someone like Misaki Doi should not be a huge obstacle. Yesterday, she managed to beat another Japanese youngster, Erika Sema, 6-2 6-2 and this is actually a step down in quality. If she finds her rhythm early, this can easily be over in no time on this unforgiving surface that rewards big hitting (which Cirstea can produce consistently enough).

Misaki Doi is simply not good enough for the main WTA tour right now and it will take some time until she gets into the top 100 or so. She is still losing to other newcomers like Maria Koehler and that is not a good sign, since she will be up against a player that wants to make a real breakthrough this year and is set to do so.

Honestly, the line should probably be set at six games here, as there is a huge gap between the two players. Cirstea's career is on the rise right now and she is competing even against the very best, while Misaki Doi is still finding her game. This is not a good spot for her and I would be surprised by anything other than a 2-0 victory for the Romanian.
