Chennai Super Kings vs Kolkata Knight Riders Betting: Kolkata can finally end the Super Kings hat trick bid in IPL final
Somehow the defending Indian Premier League champions, the Chennai Super Kings, are back in the final of the prestigious tournament and they will be looking for a hat trick of tournament wins when they take on Kolkata Knight Riders in the final of this year’s event in Chennai on Sunday. The Knight Riders have been by far the better side of the two this season but the home advantage levels it out a bit.
Chennai come into the match as the 4/5 favourites to make it a hat trick of titles with BetVictor and they will be full of confidence. They have come through two knockout matches to make it this far against Mumbai and Delhi and beat both very convincingly. Now they take on a Kolkata side who have played well in the tournament and who have already beaten the Super Kings on this ground. MS Dhoni has lit up the playoff series and his side will hope he has one more knock left in him.
Kolkata Knight Riders have some really big match players in their side and they will need everything they can get from the likes of Gautam Gambhir, Jacques Kallis and Yusuf Pathan, especially with the bat, particularly if Chennai bat like they did on this ground against Delhi on Friday when they made over 220 thanks to a Murali Vijay century. Sunil Narine has been the trump card for the Knight Riders all tournament and the question is can he produce on the biggest stage of them all.
We will find out the answer to that in this match. Looking at the way they have made it into this final you could be forgiven for thinking the title is written in the stars for the Chennai side, and you may be right but I don’t think there is too much between these two sides. Chennai probably have the better batting depth but Kolkata win the bowling attack hands down. I’m not sure Chennai’s home advantage is that much of a leveller and at 6/5 I have to take the Knight Riders as the value pick in this 5th IPL final.
