Chennai Super Kings vs Delhi Daredevils Betting: Chennai can make it back to another final courtesy of their bowlers

Do or die time has arrived for arguably the two biggest sides in the Indian Premier League as Delhi Daredevils and Chennai Super Kings play what is effectively a semi final in all but name on Friday afternoon to see who will play Kolkata Knight Riders in the 5^th IPL final in Chennai on Sunday. Delhi finished top of the table but couldn’t beat Kolkata so have to win this match to qualify while Chennai ended Mumbai’s season to reach this stage.

Delhi Daredevils will effectively be the away side in this match as the game is in Chennai, as is the final, and that is probably one of the reasons why they are even money in most places, William Hill being one of them. Against Kolkata their bowling attack got the treatment and they couldn’t get the Knight Riders’ main man Sunil Narine away in tricky conditions and the fear is that the same thing happens again here.

Chennai Super Kings needed a lot of results to go their way just to make the playoffs but they didn’t let that worry them when they thrashed the Mumbai Indians in Bangalore on Wednesday. For the first time in the tournament really MS Dhoni turned up in a big way and that is a danger for Delhi. Chennai’s varied bowling attack is usually good in their own conditions with the likes of R Ashwin and Jakati often a handful.

I think it will be Chennai’s bowling attack which can win this match for them. The Super Kings are masters of winning knockout matches and you sense in the likes of Hussey, Dhoni and Bravo they have three batsmen who can handle the pressure with the bat while the slow bowlers could prove hard to get away. If Delhi aren’t given a good platform by Sehwag and Warner the rest will be under pressure particularly as few of their middle order have been in good form throughout the tournament so I just favour Chennai even at odds on.
