Chelsea vs Man Utd Betting: Man Utd travel to Stamford Bridge at just the right time

Manchester City laid the gauntlet down to their city rivals Manchester United when they beat Fulham 3-0 on Saturday to open up a 3pt lead at the top of the Premier League so the defending champions will be looking to reply in kind when they travel to Stamford Bridge to take on fourth placed Chelsea in the second match of this weekend’s Super Sunday. Chelsea will regain a 5pt lead over Arsenal if they win this in the race for the final Champions League spot.

Chelsea will be without their captain John Terry in this match. He reportedly has a knee injury but could have been taken out of the firing line anyway with the week he has had where he has lost the England captaincy. Ashley Cole will be suspended here but Frank Lampard could earn himself a recall. Didier Drogba and Salomon Kalou are still at the African Nations so Fernando Torres will continue up front.

Manchester United could recall David de Gea to their starting line up as Anders Lindegaard is out for a while through injury. Tom Cleverley is fit to play but whether he gets the call ahead of Paul Scholes remains to be seen. Wayne Rooney, Chris Smalling and Ashley Young are all fit and expected to start the game. Nani is also fit and with Ashley Cole suspended he could be a key player for the defending Premier League champions.

With Chelsea missing two of their regular back four and Drogba up front I think United could be getting them at the right time. Both sides have been guilty of defensive lapses this season but I believe United are the better of the two sides and I think they have the attacking ability in their side to win this if it’s a tight game or if it becomes a shootout. Away win for me.
