Cambridge vs AFC Telford Betting: Two struggling sides may struggle to open each other up at the Abbey
The Blue Square Premier is back on the TV screens on Saturday night when Cambridge United welcome AFC Telford to the R Costings Abbey Stadium. Cambridge have started the season indifferently unlike AFC Telford who are on the fringes of the top five in the early stages of the season. In front of their home fans Cambridge will be expected to win this match and win it well too.
Cambridge United started the season quite well but one point from their last four matches has seen them slide down the table alarmingly. They have some good players in their ranks for this level. Robbie Willmott has the pace and skill to terror any defence at this level when he is in the mood while Tom Elliott links their play up so well. It is probably defensively where Cambridge are the best but having conceded seven goals in their last two matches it is hard to believe at the minute.
AFC Telford were on a nice little run in August but September hasn’t started so well for them. Their defeat to Nuneaton and draw with Lincoln are results which have just put them back from a very promising start which included pinching a win at Luton. Kieron St Aimie has been the leader of their attack this season and I expect that to be the case in this match too.
I’ve seen both sides this season as both have been to Luton already and Cambridge impressed me most of the two but their form really doesn’t look good right now and by all accounts they were awful against Wrexham last week. Telford’s results have shown signs of dipping too so betting on this match isn’t easy. I think the best bet is for there to be less than 2.5 goals. Cambridge on paper look good defensively while Telford never showed any intent to attack when they were at Luton, they literally went purely for a point. Cambridge might struggle to break that down but could well keep a clean sheet so I’ll go with under 2.5 goals here.
