Blackburn vs Manchester United Betting: Both teams have plenty to play for and can both score in Monday night game
Blackburn Rovers have suddenly found some form in their bid to escape from the threat of relegation but that quest will be tested to the full on Monday night when they entertain Premier League leaders Manchester United to Ewood Park for a match which will have huge implications at both ends of the table. After seeing their title rivals Manchester City only draw at home on Saturday, United will know this is a huge chance to pull clear at the top.
Blackburn will be looking to do the double over Manchester United in this match having beaten them 3-2 at Old Trafford in the reverse fixture but they are the heavy outsiders to do so. They can be backed at 8/1 with Boylesports to win this match and having seen Bolton, Wigan and QPR all win at the bottom this weekend they need to win. They could have to win without Gael Givet though as he is struggling with injury.
Manchester United will take a huge step towards the title with a win here. They would go five points clear of Man City with just 7 matches remaining. The champions will have Rio Ferdinand available as he’s recovered from the injury which forced him off last week. Nani and Michael Owen are still missing while Nemanja Vidic has been ruled out for the remainder of the season.
You would expect Manchester United to win this match but they were rotten against Fulham last week and in the end fortunate to win the game with the late penalty appeal they survived. That puts me off backing them especially with Blackburn in decent enough recent form and in need of something from the game. One thing about Blackburn is they have struggled defensively for most of the season although going forward they have been fine. The same can be said of United in many ways and I think the price of both teams to score is quite big with both better offensively than defensively.
